Shadow the Hedgehog had already experienced a lot of shit throughout the past 50 years of his existence, from Maria's murder, to falling into Earth's atmosphere in Sonic Adventure 2's ending, to Black Doom taking advantage of his amnesia for his world domination schemes, to Mephiles attempting the exact same thing even though it only succeeded.

It's also safe to say that Sonic fans are very much enjoying this Shadow resurgence we seem to be getting this year, having already dubbed the "Year of Shadow". Not only do we have a new story to look forward to in Sonic X Generation, which fans are desperate to see a little kid get shot inbut we also have the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to look forward to, which fans are also hoping features a child getting shot.

The upcoming release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has prompted renewed interest from LGBTQ+ fans about an imagine romance between Sonic and nemesis Shadow. We'll have to wait and see whether Shadow's depressing backstory will be properly told in either Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or Sonic X Shadow Generations.

We know that the movie will likely feature Mariathe girl that gets shot by a GUN soldier while trying to save Shadow's life, thanks to the recent news that actor Alyla Brown is playing a role in the movie.
